My husband and I recently visited the Sombra museum. The curator was very helpful and kind, sorry I didn't get her name. I was able to verify a photo of my great grandfather Captain Martin Swain and was very happy to see that the museum has taken such great care of the family bible. We rode across on the ferry from Marine City, MI USA and walked to the museum from the dock. This is a nice place to stop by and visit and learn about the past history of the area.

My daughters and I were one of the first to visit this Museum, when it opened in 2012. We come back each year - we take the ferry from Marine City and make an afternoon of fun of it. This is a great beginning point of making Sombra an attractive place to visit!

What a delight to find ths web site. I'm researching the family Benn, and plan to make a visit to Wallaceburg and Sombra this Spring.
